Can We Eat All Things? - 1 Timothy 4
1 Timothy 4:4 is a verse often cited to support the typical understanding that God has abolished some of His commandments, specifically in this case, the dietary instructions. This appears to be a valid claim when the verse is examined in isolation. However, as soon as we employ sound hermeneutical principles by incorporating surrounding context, we find that 1 Timothy 4:4 actually teaches us that God's dietary instructions are not abolished at all. In fact, we find that 1 Timothy 4 actually proves that we should still be keeping God's dietary instructions.
Did Noah take 2 or 7 pairs of each kind of animal on the ark?
Then the LORD said to Noah, “Enter the ark, you and all your household, for you alone I have seen to berighteous before Me in this generation. 2You shall take with you seven pairs of every clean animal, a male and his female; and two of the animals that are not clean, a male and his female; 3also of the birdsof the sky, seven pairs, male and female, to keep their offspring alive on the face of all the earth. 4For after seven more days, I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights; and I will wipe out from the face of the land every living thing that I have made.” 5So Noah acted in accordance with everythingthat the LORD had commanded him.
